Day 1 (15th February 2008)

This picture is taken in departure hall of KLIA before boarding. Being awake the whole night before busy packing last minute and ripping cds into computer, I had got a pair of 'panda eyes'. Later onboard of the plane, I was asleep during the whole trip even missed my meal.

As soon as I cleared of declaration, I took pictures of Perth airport. Do not expect something like KLIA, perhaps Langkawi airport which is something similar. A note to all those who plan to come here, declare your baggage honestly, the officers are nice enough if you are honest. They just wanted to make sure that the declared items are safe for their land and ourselves. They just looked on my traditional chinese medicine (powder and pills) and let me pass.

This is my luggage. I brought a 30kgs hard-shell luggage,  black laptop bag and my golf clubs. The plastic bag in between had a Bombay Sapphire and new Gentleman Jack which I bought in KLIA Dutyfree.

I took this at the taxi waiting area. nNote that the carparks are full of nice car which you can't see in Malaysia. Loads of Accord Euro, new Altis, V6 and V8 Holdens, Range Rovers, and lots of nice SUV and pickups. In Perth, everywhere is V6 and V8 even V10. You can see and hear them from afar. When I mean everywhere, it means EVERYWHERE.

This is the taxi that ride me from airport to Daniel's house in Bently. A special thanks to Daniel, Wei Hang and Henny for offering me temporary shelters. The ride only cost me about $30, unlike those who scared me off by saying $50.

The following picture was taken during the taxi ride. Note that the land are filled with sands and savanna trees, something very different from Malaysia. I miss the tropical forest and its greenery back in homeland.

Starting from here is the pictures of my temporary shelter courtesy of Daniel and Wei Hang. I would also like to thank the housemistress Cindy, which I havent met and talk to until now.

In the late afternoon, the wind was blowing strong in Perth. I ate the sandwich, baguette and Coke which I brought in airport as dinner. I hate the dinner, it's so cold outside yet I'm eating cold sandwich!

For the rest of the day, I was busy trying to connect my laptop to the router. It was troublesome, like trial and error. There goes my first day in Perth.
